The first dance and  . . .

a demonstration dance.
Posted by PicasaCareforce is a group which has been offering gap year type placements in the UK. Our church has had such a volunteer for several years now. This year it has been our pleasure to have Vivian from Kenya. She organised an International Evening. We had food from various countries, lots of people in national dress, also singing and dancing from different countries. A group of other volunteers came to support her. They were from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malaysia and Amy from Scotland.

Fester (from Nigeria) demonstrated how to tie her headdress.

Vivian joined the group for this dance.

This is the last dance of the evening. Everyone joined in and went round and round! Great fun!

Posted by PicasaAfter everyone had gone, the group couldn't stop dancing - eventually they posed for a photo and then carried on dancing!

Some scenes from South Park Chapel Barbecue

It was a lovely sunny day, but a bit breezy and the gazebo was threatening to take flight!

There was a treasure hunt/quiz for the older children but the smaller boys enjoyed the train set.

Alberto did a great job on the barbecue and eventually got the chance to sit down with his friends.

A quiet moment with a book.

A quiet chat away from the crowd.
Posted by PicasaThank you Heather and Alberto for the hospitality of your garden. Thanks, Eline, for another delicious cake - and thanks, Greg, for the barbecued lamb! and to everyone else!
